Well, it’s over!  My year as President of the FGFOA has come to an end.  Our theme was “Equipped to Serve” and we did provide many opportunities for finance officers to get equipped.  It was a great year that absolutely flew by.  Someone asked if the load was lifted and I responded, “it was not a heavy lift, but rather a pleasure working for the FGFOA.  It is a load shared by lots of hard working, very organized people, who simply get the job done.”  That group includes the Board, Committee Chairs/Co-Chairs, Committee members, Chapter presidents, and whole lot of members.  I loved it.  It went by way too fast for me.

We went out with a bang, having 850 people attending the Tuesday night event at Disney Springs (Planet Hollywood).  Of course, the conference had its great technical sessions, key note by Colonel McKnight, national anthem by my daughter, Lucinda, emerging leaders networking session, 2 pre-conference sessions, boot camp, and just a great time had by all.

Thanks again for allowing me to serve as your President.  I look forward to working with the new board as we continue to push the FGFOA forward in its service to equip its members to be outstanding finance officers.
