Ken Burke, CPA
Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller
Ken Burke has served as the Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller for Pinellas County, Florida, since his election in 2004. As an elected Constitutional Officer, Ken serves as the Clerk of the Circuit and County Courts, Recorder of Deeds, County Auditor and Clerk and Accountant to the Board of County Commissioners. Since his election, Ken has effectively managed all courthouse records, a local budget of approximately $43 million and about 550 employees.
Ken grew up in Pinellas and attended school and college locally. He is proud graduate of St. Petersburg College and the University of South Florida where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He is also a Florida Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Prior to his current position, Ken gained a wealth of experience as a law firm administrator and through his long record of civic involvement.
In addition to being a member of the FGFOA, Ken has served on the Board of Trustees of St. Petersburg College, was elected to the Association of Community Colleges (ACCT) Board of Directors in 2001, served as Chair of the Association in 2005-2007 and in June 2011, served as President of the Florida Court Clerks and Comptrollers. He was also elected by his fellow Clerks to the statewide Clerks of Court Operations Corporation (CCOC), was appointed to the Florida Supreme Court’s Standing Committee on Fairness and Diversity and to the Higher Education Coordinating Council by Governor Rick Scott. Ken currently serves on the Special Presidential Committee on Technology/Office Tools & Resources for the Florida Bar and serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Court Clerks, County Records & Election Officials (NACRC).
Ken and his wife, Cecilia (Reese) of over 24 years have three wonderful children – Catherine, Patrick and Brendan.
